Tiny independent press breaks into non-fiction top 20 with new title - on pre-orders alone - Canbury Press

Canbury Press has today broken into the top 20 of the UK Official chart for non-fiction hardbacks (excluding cookbooks), selling 3,822 copies of new book How To Be A Liberal through Nielsen BookScan's TCM. The book, by political journalist Ian Dunt, officially publishes on 17th September. Based on pre-orders made directly via the publisher’s website, the total value of sales stands at £69,092.64.

The publisher went through several weeks of testing, working closely with the team at Nielsen, in order for its direct orders to be included in the chart. Katharine Nelson, Canbury’s Sales and Marketing Director, said: ‘We’re grateful to Nielsen for their recording the sales of this title. We’ve had unprecedented success with our pre-order promotion of Ian’s book and can’t wait for it to reach all the readers who’ve been eagerly awaiting its arrival! We hope when it hits bookstore shelves it will find an even greater readership - it’s not an overstatement to say that it’s a book we feel the world needs right now.’ In terms of the chart as a whole, the book stands at position 54.

You can still pre-order the book and receive a limited edition signed copy before general release here.
